omgomgomgomg! I saw this shirt at Blizzcon but I didn't get it because I was poor with no cash.

Eeeee finally, the priest shirt is available at their website. I will get it soon. Maybe I should get two.... I'm not sure how good their quality is.

Today I'm going to my uncle's house to take care of his new kitty, Tigger. Supposedly he's naughty and boisterous. We'll see about that. I'm a cat at heart too! We should get along great. We'll compete to who can climb the highest and sit aloof while we curiously stare blankly at the ceiling. Let's count the craters in the stucco! (am I the only person who's tried that?)

August 30, 2007

I recently went to Dave and Buster's. I don't go there often, and when I do I feel like I should dress up or something. If you know me, I'm a t-shirt and jeans person, only shorts in the summer. My t-shirts are fitted...and usually have some of graphic that I like on it...I'm reeeeally comfortable! So when I go to these places I feel like I need to dress up like a girl, and most of the time it's fun every once in a while.

Maranwe, Idrill, Thelnie yaay for ingame names. Mouse over for the real ones.

I had.....Peach on a Beach..it was good! Peach and Cranberry I think. I don't drink a lot. The only effects I've had from drinking is just a warm esophagus.

My grandfather had a drinking problem and he smoked. My grandma and aunt are pretty into gambling, and it was found out that they and me are of the same "type". I'm going to talk asian superstitions and fortune telling here...but we're the same type that is either very spiritual (doesn't matter which religion) or very easily addicted. That explains my grandma's and aunt's penchant for gambling. I'm really level headed so when I tried gambling (slot machines) I had to play mind tricks with myself to a point where I was seriously too tired to gamble any further. I would think things like "oh I just won a lot, but how much did I put in? okay...i'm going to put this 20 dollars aside and I'm not going to touch it..." or "i'm only going to play until i use up this money that I won, then I won't have really lost anything". Stuff like that. It's complicated...and it's all in my head. I actually did come out on top though, I earned 60 bucks the first time I played. So anyway, the point is, I'm afraid to be addicted to alcohol, even though I can feel it that I might be able to take it well. Who knows, but I may never find out. At least I don't take one sip and go ravaging for more. ^_^ Or, I could not be the addicted type, and be the spiritual kind. mmm....i'm spiritual to my own values...actually..that's not what spiritual means right? I believe in ghosts, is that spiritual? haha...but I do think a lot about the way people act, and why, but I think that's called curiousity.

It's sooooooooooooo hot here!! I can't stand heat, especially with humidity mixed in. Usually I'm in Taiwan for the summer, which is way worse than this, but I expected a nicer summer than this...at least for it to be dry! I miss my jeans...I miss my jackets...I miss my hoody sweaters....Autumn and Winter cannot come soon enough. Ugh.....I love winter...I get happy just seeing stores start stocking up on their new fall/winter collections.

I watched the lunar eclipse! I had class early the next day (I have to wake up at 7:30am for a class at 9am) so I went to sleep as early as I could so I could wake up at 2:20am to get set. I read that it was going to start at around 2:52 or something. Surprisingly, it was easy to wake up at 2 and it was easy to wake up before school today. Eh, I'm usually pretty good at waking up when I need to.

As always, you can click on the picture for a bigger pic.

You can do it! Aaaaalmost there! I love the color! Like...amber....breathtaking...I wish I could take a better picture than this <: (

This is as good as it gets.....and then I went back to sleep.

The moon, for the last few days, has been soooo bright. Almost blindingly bright. It's really beautiful.

I simponized me

Gee...do my legs really look that stocky? -__-". At least Santa's Little Helper is accurate....I totally want a greyhound when I move out.

Yesterday, I went to Wood Ranch with a lot of old friends. It's always great to see them again....my friends are the most wonderful and smartest people in the world. The occasion was that, two years ago or something, the guys made a promise that the first person to get a steady girlfriend would treat them all to a steak dinner. Wyatt is the lucky person so we all get free steak, except the people that were ineligible to be considered (people that already had significant others during the time of the pact). Wood Ranch has a reeeally good tri tip that is famous for the people that go there. It's sooooooo yummy. I don't have a picture of it.....I took one a long time ago the first time I went, but it's on my phone.

Paquito, Philip, Wyatt

Brandon

Me and Bryan. His new glasses look good!

Paquito and Phil smiling!

It seems like Bryan and Paquito will be here for awhile still, I hope to hang out with them more. They went to college far away <: (

I also went to Disneyland! Two new things there...the Tom Sawyer Island was turned piratey! The caves there were updated to fit the theme of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and there is a new Captain Jack Sparrow character that roams around, and a pirate "show" thing that I didn't watch but saw parts of while on the raft over to the island.

Also, The Finding Nemo Submarine Adventure is suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper awesome. omg...I haven't been on the submarines in a looong time, since they took it down in 1998, and then in 2003 was like "coming soon in 2007" and at the time I was like "2007 .....soooo far away!" but it's actually out right now because time flies (run on sentence yes). Here is a good article about the history of the submarine ride.

This is not the submarine ride! This is the monorail disguised as one. Soooo cute. The inside is the same though.

I went on it at night and omg....it was amazing. At the loading dock, they have the soundtrack from Finding Nemo, the really heartwarming one right as the title comes out in the movie. The atmosphere really felt like I was on my way out to the sea.

Shiny new subs! I wonder how long the paint will last. As read in the article, maintainence for these subs and the ride are a pain. I didn't take pics from the inside, because it's dark and you can't see much anyway, but I will say that it's better than before and will have you yelling "Nemo...!...Nemo!!....Where are you??!?!?"

This Jack really looked like him! Good job with casting, but I have to say, your Mulan casting sucks! >: P

Bubump, bubump.

I caught up with Captain Jack but I was too shy to ask to take a picture. So I pretended to be a Japanese tourist and snapped a pic and fled.

Look....it's the darkmoon faire.....

I had to take a picture of these "princes".

I got my hair done. It's pretty. @_@ I was asking the guy about getting my hair done, since it's short, and he's like "Oh yeah, we can still pin it up, and we'll put ribbons.....flowers....glitter......or a GIANT BEETLE IN YOUR HAIR!" and at that point, a huuuuuuuuge beetle flew onto my hair. Those huge green iridescent kind. I could feel it's weight on my hair. Since I knew it was a beetle, I didn't freak out like most girl probably would. In fact, I want to catch it in a jar if I had one. So the guy calmly walked over and flicked the poor beetle off my hair. I hope he didn't lose a leg or something.

I'm dying my hair right now....I wanted to try dying it a light ashy brown, the kind of color eurasian kids have...you know.....but..i went with the safer color, a burgundy. There are so many brands to choose from and it's hard to tell if one color is the same color on another brand. And you know those charts that say if you hair color is this, then after the dye it will be this, is just all computer generated......it makes it really hard to decide whether or not the color will turn out right on my hair. It and doesn't help that I'm not really sure if my hair is black, or dark brown @_@.

I did well on my social science class....I think I'm good at those kinds of "idea" classes...where the teacher spews out info and you take notes on it. I'm not good at classes where I have to understand something and create ideas on my own. I think that's what I didn't like about economics....sure I could move the lines great...but when given an example and asked to figure out what was going to happen....logically, I think too much. And then a lot of it doesn't makes sense.....

Which is probably why I was good at Psychology in the early stages of class. A Psychology course is just....learn these scenarios and know what we learn from them, memorize these terms. Aaaaand it helps that psychology is actually interesting and deals with things that I can think about every day, watching tv, being in contact with people. The first time I took a Psych course was AP Psych in high school...and honestly, it opened me up to understand more about people, and the different issues and environments that could affect people. I think everyone should learn at least adolescent or child psychology....that's why I take it into consideration every decision I have to make when I deal with my students.

Anyhow..as much as I like Psychology, I know I wouldn't do well working in the area.

A friend of mine told me a story...that I cannot really disclose. In the end, part of the issue was religion. Apparently, I learned, a person isn't supposed to hurt their body in any way, included "doing drugs" like smoking and stuff because our bodies aren't ours, they are Jesus'.........and we shouldn't abuse his body.....something like that

There are times when I wonder....why is there such a need for religion to tell people what to do? I know I don't smoke or do harmful drugs, not because I feel like my body isn't mine, or the Bible told me so.....i just think it's unnecessary. Anyhow, the shock of "he's doing drugs, he's not supposed to, it's not his body, and he's religious?! shock!" was a little much for me. But I don't really like to get into this kind of debate.

Oooooooh I'm going to a baseball game this tuesday! Angels vs. Yankees....that should be exciting I think ^_^ So this would be the second time I go see a ballgame. I want to eat lots of food this time! Yummy yummy.....

Not much lately!...mm.....

About 2 weeks ago, my mom and I made dumplings together! This was reeeally exciting because when I was little I would watch my aunts and my mom all get together and make them...so I've always wanted to too.

So at first I thought you had to use egg yolk to seal the dumplings, but later on, water worked well too, and it was less messy to work with.

So cute!!

Allll lined up! This is my side, my mom's dumplings are the ones slightly lining up horizontally.

After being frozen for about 3 hours, we boiled them up and they looked just like from the market!! And more healthy too because we didn't add any kind of chemicals...or weird ingredients...we knew exactly what was in our dumplings!

Yum! The meat was a liiiitle dry...but my mom didn't know why. I think we have to add a little starch or something, I'm going to look it up.

~*New songs...Joe Hisaishi- Will to Live (from Mononoke Hime), Joe Hisaishi- Evening at the Fireworks (from Mononoke Hime), Joe Hisaishi- The Girl Who Fell From the Sky (from Laputa, Castle in the Sky), Joe Hisaishi- The Collapse of Laputa (from Laputa, Castle in the Sky)*~

Time fliiiiies...seriously. I feel like I just updated this sucker!

I've been watching old Studio Ghibli stuff....and I have to say...I feel in love with Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke) all over again. I haven't seen it for a long time, so I barely remembered the specifics. Watching it again.....ooh wow. So beautiful...and the characters are so strong. Ashitaka is so brave and manly, even though he looks so young. San is a strong girl who fights for what she believes in and what she grew up with. And the music........orgasmic.

Also, watching Totoro makes me smile.

My dad bought the new iMac today...and because of the student promotion, he got a 30gb iPod for 199 bucks off. ..........egh.....The fruitiness takes over my house. My dad has 4 computers sitting around him now....super lite sony vaio...ibook, desktop computer, and now iMac. He's taking the big dell monitor to taiwan and supposedly using his iBook to travel with and hooking it up to the monitor when he's in Taiwan. The iMac will stay here. I told him if we're starting up a space station. He has one for being a pirate with, one for watching the baseball game scores, one for doing pictures, and one for doing videos now. -__-" sigh.

August 9, 2007

Woooo...I just spend about 2 hours reorganizing my music AGAIN. I do this maybe...every 2 weeks after I get *ahem* some new music in *magically*. And since my music is usually Chinese, or Japanese...the characters are kind of messed up so I have to go back and find the romanji titles and names, stuff like that. And I make sure they are all in the right place. The challenge today was...I got a whole bunch of Joe Hisaishi, the composer of many many Studio Ghibli music, stuff and the track numbering was alll wrong. The numbers were in the title, so I had to delete those, and manually type in the right one in it's own space, going back to the original file to make sure the number was correct...and then I looked up album covers. It seems like a horrible process, but it's extremely rewarding for me to see songs neatly lined up, capitalized neatly, numbers, under the right album artist....and with a picture. Unfortunately, my collection isn't perfect yet...there is a bunch of unknown albumed songs...I'm so tempted to just delete them. And I have a bunch of albumed without covers. eeeh...I'll never be done.

My summer school session II has started; I am taking 2 classes. One of my classes is U.S and World Geography. So I think, oh cool, I get to memorize states and countries again, maybe at a higher level with topography or something, I don't know. I end up with a familiar looking teacher......oh wait...oh no.....I've taken this class before and now I remember why I dropped it long ago. This teacher is the boringest teacher in the world....with a weird accent and talks weird > <. But I'm not going to drop it this time. He's Nigerian and taught in England or something....he stresses weird words and extends his vowels. He spend the first 30 minutes of lecture time suggesting how we should take notes. "So pleeeeeease...remeeembbbbeeer....I sugeeeest the coooornell note taking process" It's hard to explain. In fact...I'm going to look him up at ratemyprofessors.com ....hmmm

The man knows what he's teaching, but at the same time he's not too interesting. Once in a while you get a good laugh in class. I've taken another class with him before, and his style is basically the same. Straight forward, not much thinking going on. He is god, and you write down everything he tells you. Covers a good amount of material in lecture.

Well, it doesn't seem that bad. Another person also said he looks like Samuel L. Jackson...and he kind of does! Just skinnier. Looks like it's an easy class I guess.

My other teacher for Introduction to Social Science is pretty awesome!! She prints out her slides, gives us an exam study sheet as she's giving a lecture so you can make sure you catch the things she says that will be on the test later on. Usually teachers give a study sheet right before the test, if they even give you a sheet...this one gives it right along her lectures...that's a really good idea! And she's totally not boring, even though she seems....50ish years old, she keeps herself up to date. <3

My classes are every day beginning at 9AM. And both classes usually end early so it's to about 10:30...not bad! I don't mind summer school at all really, I still have tons of time and I don't feel like a slob not doing anything in the summer.

Oh! The videos I put on youtube.com of the Blizzcon dances and sound contests seem to have kicked off well! One of them got 25,000 viewers in like...oh...3-4 days or something. But I don't think it's something to be proud of...I just posted them up....all of the people there could have done it.

August 4, 2007

Oookay, Blizzcon was way fun! When I got there, it didn't seem like there was a lot to do, but they have scheduled something every hour that there is always something to do. If you don't want to listen to a panel discussion, you can get in line for about 20 minutes and get to play the new WoW expansion or play Starcraft 2 in either single player or multi-player.

Starcraft 2 is pretty wow. Firstly, the graphics are all so different that I barely recognized my buildings. I had to read the tooltips to remember how to get certain buildings too (yeah, it's be like...5 years) Sean and I played against a 7 year old looking kid with his dad. So...yeah, we won...it would be been really embarrassing if we didn't. Luckily for them, and us I suppose, we always found the dad's base first instead of the 7 year old boy's. It would have been sad if we found the kid's base both times we played (we were only supposed to play one, but nobody told us to get off). I played protoss because that's how I roll. Zerg was not playable at the convention. I would go into more detail about new stuff...but those things you can read everywhere else in better detail than I would describe it. I have horrible memory.

Don't forget you can see a bigger picture in a new window if you click on it.

This is the view to the back during the Starcraft tournament against Savior and Nal_ra...two crazy good Koreans that totally blew everyone away with how good they were. Seriously. They were awesome and amazing. If you look at their gameplay, at the bottom screen, the frames are flying around you can barely see what's being targeted. They bring their own mouse and keyboard so they can be used to it, having to install all their drivers as well. They have hot keys everywhere and though I couldn't see their hand flying over their keyboard, I'm pretty sure that that what's going behind the scenes. I've never seen Starcraft played at this level. Units were meticulously microed to the fullest. When I play starcraft, it's just .....select all these units, bring them to this general area, target and attack, and pray my units win. The commentator for the event was pretty awesome too. He would get soooo excited over every move because they really were great battles, and it was so exciting. I didn't think watching people play starcraft could be this exciting. Also, it was extremeley hard to tell who was winning and who wasn't. As soon as you think one player has the upper hand, the "losing" player will make a complete come back with just one crucial attack to a vital point and the tables could be turned 180. I have some video of this, but it's not very clear....the most important is hearing the commentator because he really made the game.

Here is the best part in the game....it's crazy crazy crazy stuff. Seriously, watch this if you love Starcraft. In the end, Savior still won.

This is....Iris on the left, Nal_ra on the right. Nal_ra won against him.

In the evening was the concert: Lvl 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain and Video Games Live!.

Lots of Blizzard fans. We did the wave a couple times. > <

oOOoo

Hearing the terran map theme live was pretty great @_@. It was surreal, really. Lots of wow music after starcraft music, which was pretty basic, sounds just like in game.

I got this awesome shirt too ^_^.

Here is a video I posted on youtube to tide you guys (if there are any readers, I don't know). One of the more interesting dances from the dance contest.

The first guy is the winner....for those that don't know, the blood elf male dance is based on Napolean Dynamite. > <

August 2, 2007

Blizzcon! I'll write later..hopefully I remember it all.

This is the left side of the hall, and there doesn't look like a lot of people, because they are all packed together waiting in line for either the expansion or SC2.

This was the coolest huuuuge poster out in the hallway. They made this picture into a mousepad. I didn't buy it, but it was pretty nice.......I guess it would be nicer if I were a guy, but even I can appreciate this.

She was the winner of the Korean Costume Contest and was invited to come to Blizzcon because she won. That's pretty amazing. The most impressive costumes turned out to be warlock tier set ones, because naturally, all the warlock sets have been awesome in game anyway.

I took this picture during a hands on demo of the new expansion. Pictures are okay, video is not. I really like the new lands....I didn't see any deserts and it was forest forest forest!

During a sound and music panel discussion. Really interesting...it makes you want to site and listen to what makes up the sounds you hear. The music in game is really great. I could just sit in darkshore and listen to the water...or in Darnassus and listen to the city music.
